It was March 8, 2012 when a Fun walk was held at Tanay Park
all the way to Sala Matanda… and At around 6 am they started to walk from Tanay Park…
The Fun walk was leaded by the Mayor, Vice Mayor and other Municipal Employees
Unfortunately … I was late huhu so I rushed to Tanay Park using my Mom’s scooter (thanks mommy for my sponsor!!)… I came home at around 5: 45 am from one of the famous resorts in Tanay… Bakasyunan Resort….
Yehey! I made it! I was able to reach the middle of the part of the crowd… I immediately looked for Mr. Bien Magpantay… He’s at the start of the parade….
So I acted like a sweeper and hurried all the way to the start of the parade… Thank God Mr. Bien spotted me so I just parked the scooter at savemore tanay to join the funwalk…
Mr. Bien introduced me to some of his colleagues then after that I started to take some pictures and videos of the funwalk…
Lots of participants joined this event like the students of Rizal Marine Techno – Computer College, Tanay West National High School, Marciana P. Catolos Memorial National High School and Tanay National High School….. Employees of Savemore Morong, Savemore Tanay and Tanay Water District are also present in this very meaningful event for the people of Tanay…
Lots of different Organizations such as Tanay Mountaineers Inc., Tanay Adventure Camp, Tanay Youth Center, Tanay Farmers Association, Saturday Movers, Tanay Municipal Motorbikers Association, 16th Infantry Battalion, Second Infantry Division…. Tanay Philippine National Police,
Different Sanguniang Barangay like from Brgy. Plaza Aldea, Brgy. Tabing Ilog, Brgy. Mag Ampon, Brgy San Isidro….

According to my source it is about 2 kilometeres away from Tanay Park… Another achievement for me!! Sweating all over XD
We walked through hi-ways to rough roads to rivers to a little forest and that's it!!
Salang Matanda is an irrigation system that supplies water to different fields of Tanay, Baras and Pillila... This is very essential not just for our farmer friends but for all of us who are gaining from their crops....
According to a speech I heard that day.... During the Ondoy experience the Dam of Salang Matanda was tremendously damaged... the gates of the Dam can't handle the impacts and pressures of water rushing all the way from Sierra Madre and Tanay mountains... and in no time it turned out into a big flash flood that affected lots of people from the lowlands....
Even me.... I thought before that they have purposely opened the dam not thinking about other people...but I proved my self wrong.. after I heard the speeches of all the people involved in the rehabilitation and operation of the said dam...
It cleared my mind and answered the questions I have in mind after the Ondoy tragedy...
Everytime I was able to join an activity in Tanay... there is always a new realization that pops up in my head,,,,
With this event I said to myself... "
Its so amazing that every time there is an activity here in Tanay different groups really supports the event.. not just from the public groups but also the private ones and even random individuals are present to join and enjoy this event...
and it turns out into a big united group that is equal to
A succesful event...A succesful governance...A succesful municipality...
Forgive for not having so much picture for this one... for my camera that time is running out of batteries... :)
